2008 Hayabusa
May 2, 2008 – 5:44 pmFrom 1999 to 2007 the Suzuki Hayabusa went unchanged in body style because it was such a great design. In 2008 Suzuki introduced a new Hayabusa. The Kawasaki ZX-14 had come out with a bigger bike so it was time for Suzuki to step it up and come out with a 1340cc bike instead of the 1299cc bike that the older Hayabusa’s had. The 2008 Hayabusa is a sport motorcycle that has become a legend in its own time. An aerodynamic machine inspired by and named for a japanese peregrine falcon known for cutting through the wind with incredible ease and pretty much dominating all the big birds.
Some of the features of the new Hayabusa included for 2008 where these items here. It received a 2mm longer stroke to yield 1340cc instead of the old bike’s 1299cc. New forged pistons are lighter and stronger and produce a 1.5-point increase in compression ratio to 12.5:1. Also forged is the crank, as it attaches to new chro-moly rods that are now shot-peened for added strength.
Now for the fun stuff here are a few pictures of the Busa Boys acting a fool on their busa’s. They are very fun to wheelie and do burnouts with.
